Random Junk

I've been awake since 5am. On a Saturday. Feh.

We're headed out later to go car shopping. I will want to buy the biggest thing I can find, Carl will want to buy anything that says Honda on it.

I started knitting again this week, working on a hat now. I need to be finishing up quilts for the Milford kids. Right now, though, I just want to work on Christmas stuff. I seriously need to come up with a plan and stick to it.

The Black Friday ads suck. I was planning on getting a tv for my kitchen, but this year's prices are higher than last year (fo shizzle, check out the Meijer ad...that 20" lcd? I paid $99 for it last year for my Mom). So...right now it's looking like I'll head to Joanns out of habit, and might pick up some towels at Meijer. How pathetic is that? No standing in line all night somewhere, I'll kind of miss that. I know the stores will mark stuff down as we get closer to Christmas, but that's not the same. There's something fun about the anticipation of a really good deal while meeting 500 of your new closest friends. :)

I got Ron Paul bumper stickers for 4 of our cars. Heehee!

I'm going back to bed.

I Must Be Crazy

Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm missing the fleece already. My studio just seems a little empty without all of those bright and wild fleece solids and prints everywhere. I'm starting to wonder if I should pick up some more yardage at Joanns' Black Friday sale and crank out a few more sets. I never thought I'd miss it once I was done. Maybe I should get out the scraps and play a little bit. Wonder what I could make from them?

Anyway, it's been a busy week for me. Helping Hands opportunities are really coming in quickly now, but I think we've got everything covered pretty well, thanks be to God for answering those prayers!

Still checking gottadeal.com for more ads. So far I'm not terribly impressed, but it's still early, and the big ads aren't out yet. The Target ad came out today, but they don't really do the doorbuster thing. Right now I'm more interested in the Meijer ad, and of course the big electronics stores. I think my Mom has decided that she would like XM radio for Christmas, so I'll be on the lookout for a good deal somewhere. Everyone keeps asking me what I want, and the only thing I can think of is DDR for my Wii. There are tons of things I'd like to have, but not with that burning "gotta have it or else" feeling, and I really won't be disappointed if none of them show up at my house. Maybe I'm grown up now? ;)

Speaking of grown up, I'm still working on my mom's bday present. I'm so afraid I'll let something slip! It is so totally NOT what she thinks it is!! shhhhh :)

Well, I need to get going on a couple of quilts. I finally decided what to do with the batiked purple and green quilt that I did for the quilt shop's buck a block last year. It's really cute, but not necessarily my style, I just wanted to play with batiks. The blocks are all done, but I didn't put them together because I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Now it's going to be a lap quilt for one of the Milford kids, I think one of the teenage girls will grab it. I can't wait to show them! It's so girly and cool, I hope they really like it! I figured that someday the perfect person would come along for that quilt. Isn't that neat? God is so awesome!

Headed to see Fred Claus this weekend, I hope. Have a good one!

So you might have noticed that we were down over the weekend. Apparently our server was finally upgraded (yay!) but there were a whole bunch of problems (boo!). I think we're back up for good now. Hopefully. Really frustrating, if you sent me email on the 4th, I didn't get it.

Had a crazy weekend. Finished up the 2007 Fleece Project season, with a grand total of 220 hats and scarves for Feitshans Academy. Also worked on the Milford house Saturday afternoon/early evening and got to meet Dorothy Milford and her 6 grandchildren. They are all beautiful, sweet kids, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them. This Saturday is a blitz day to hopefully get the siding on the back of the house finished. If you're local and available, please let me know and I'll get you hooked up with this very worthy project.

I spent most of Sunday on the roof hanging Christmas lights. They're all up, but I'm fighting electrical outlet problems on the back of the house. I think I have a bad one, but we'll see. I dealt with it last year but I'm losing patience with it this year. The Russian had the lights on for me when I got home from work last night. :) Also got the top put up on the little Jeep and washed it. That's always a little depressing, even though I look forward to winter and the holidays, it's still sad to know that I can't go cruising around town with the radio blasting, with the wind blowing so hard I can't wear a hat. However, Black Friday ads are coming out with some regularity now, and I'm hearing noise that there will be a DS bundle!

Oh, and I have another new project at work, and we're getting a new roof at the office this week. Noisy. I live for their union-mandated breaks. :P

I think that's it for now, I'm headed back to the Milford house this weekend to work on siding (I have a new toolbelt and a bunch of tools, including a shiny new hammer) and will probably spend most of Sunday recuperating, except the youth building is having an open house that I want to attend.

And I have a birthday surprise cooking for my Mom. Big one. Heehee!
