That's pretty much how it's been going here. New puppy is working out okay, tho he's a little nuts. New baby is fine, eating well and growing. Everyone tells us that since we got him right at birth that it's a good sign we'll get to keep him. We're keeping our fingers crossed and doing a lot of praying, as we know a lot of you are, too.
Headed to southern Illinois for the weekend, right now it's looking like it'll just be me and Will, I'm not sure there'd be room for anyone else in my car, anyway. By the time I cram it full with a pack and play, stroller, not to mention my suitcase and his baby bag, which will be stuffed to the gills, I hope I have room for the carseat. This should be interesting.
Been listening to a lot of Radiohead lately in prep for Lolla. Got the stage map today, they switched some stuff around so there are more stages on the lake side this year. I'm ok with that, but I doubt if the city of Chicago will be. Most of the stages seem like they're aimed downtown. I remember last year listening to the Polyphonic Spree thinking that we had to be jarring some desks in the buildings directly adjacent to the park. (I also remember turning to the Russian and saying (screaming with delight, actually) "My shorts are vibrating!", and him not hearing me screaming right in his ear. Good times.) This year will be worse (well, better for me, but it's all a matter of perspective).
Anyway, back to the baby. He's sleeping for 3 straight hours at a stretch now, which is lovely. He's also eating more, which is contributing to his second chin, which is developing nicely. I keep promising him some cake when he grows teeth, but so far nothing (kidding). We're having lots of fun with him, and the game "which is bigger" is starting to get interesting. He now outweighs a bag of flour, but a gallon of water is questionable. And he's decidedly longer than one of the Russian's shoes. He gets weighed and measured again on Thursday, stay tuned for that update. Carl sits with him every night while they surf the internet, I think they've been visiting Alan Keyes' site.
