Today's the day! I think we're ready. I set up Alice's old crate for them last night, I have the litter box installed, and a towel for sleeping and playing. I've got most of the bigger holes covered in the crate, but now I'm wondering if they can sneak through the regular slats in it. Ugh. We'll see, I guess.
I'm going to pick them up at 2. They'll come back to work with me in their carrier, and then at 5 I'll take them straight home and get them set up in the crate. We're supposed to meet Mama Tanya and Pop at a house in town at 6.
Last night we went to Darrell's for the auction. Carl bought some books and I got a loom (and true to his name, I got it for a dollar!). I'm excited to put it together and try it out, but I don't have any yarn to put in it. I think I'll have to find some at a yard sale. Who knows if this is something I'll enjoy, but at least I haven't invested a fortune.
I also finished the knitting part of a scarf I've been working on since last year. It was big chunky yarn on size 15 needles, but for some reason I wasn't real motivated to finish it. It turned out really pretty (self-striping yarn...I love that). I'm going to cast it off today and figure out what to do with it. Maybe I'll keep it :)
After I finished it up last night I took out another scarf project I've had going for awhile, on size 8's. Talk about depressing! After working with the big yarn this one seems tiny. Worse, I need the needles back for a class I'm starting in July. Hopefully I can get it finished, or get over my idea to only have one set of needles in any size. (probably the latter)
I think I'm going to visit my mom this weekend. The only question now, is what to do with the kitties...take them with me, or leave them with Carl? I think he would like for me to take Alice, so I might do that and leave the cats with him.
It's still raining here.
