Snow

It's impossible to tell how much there is on the ground, because what's there has drifted so much. There was a 2' drift around our building at work this morning that had to be shoveled before we could open the back door to get in.

I'm in the little Jeep. It did pretty well on snow-packed and piled roads, but I didn't take any chances. The roads are covered in a 2" sheet of ice with potholes. Pretty bumpy.

Couldn't sleep last night because I kept getting up to check the weather, so at 6 I finally got up and worked on the yellow brick road quilt. I'm liking it, the colors are pretty dark and it's kind of masculine anyway, so I think I'll give it to one of the men in my mom's family.

Last night we didn't do much. I made some really good soup:
1 pound of ground beef, cooked and drained
2 cans of minestrone soup
2 cans of ranch style beans
1 can of tomatoes with mild green chiles
1 can of diced tomatoes

I put it all together and let it simmer for probably 20 minutes while I went and filled up the Jeep (gas - 2.46). Sprinkled shredded cheddar on it and ate it with tortilla chips. Kind of chili-like, but more vegetables. I think it's called 6 can soup.
